Olhos De Água
Olhos de Água is located on the coast of the Algarve between Albufeira and Vilamoura. The name Olhos De Agua means eyes of water. The name is derived from the sweet water springs rising on the beach and under the surface of the sea. It is thought that because of these springs the area around Olhos de Água, and salt pans are also dating back to the Roman times.
Until the 1960s Olhos de Água was a small fishing village. Due to the rapid development of the mass tourism it is now a very busy place during the summer season. Today hotels, holiday villas and apartments can also be found stretched along the entire coast reaching the outskirts of Albufeira.
East of Olhos de Água on the border with Vilamoura, you find one of the greatest golf resorts in Portugal, Pine Cliffs. The resort built on a cliff top comprises the 5 star hotel Sheraton Algarve, several luxurious apartment complexes, a 9 hole golf course and many sports and leisure facilities for an unforgettable holiday stay. It is also very popular for international business events.

To the west of Fisherman’s Beach, the Praia do Tunel is accessed through a tunnel leading from Rua 5 de Outubro.
One of the area’s best Blue Flag beaches is Praia da Oura, a couple of kilometres east of the Old Town. Oura beach offers a wide strip of golden sand with a walkway that offers bars, cafes and restaurants.
A little further away from the town centre, there are plenty of lovely sandy coves to discover. One of the best is Praia de Sao Rafael, another terrific Blue Flag beach. The clear, shallow waters here make this a good place to snorkel.
It is now 10 years since the Albufeira marina opened to boat owners, businesses and tourists.
The marina offers visitors restaurants, bars, a nautical club, bowling alley, grocery stores and shops. There is a lot to do on the marina for families and also a lot of boat trips now leave from the marina.

In the corner are now a couple of children’s rides, some trampolines and a SCAD jump
