Tavira is a beautifully town and offers the seven arch bridge which is over the river Gilão The market hall which is also on the river front was renovated a few years ago. Now the market home also has several shops, cafes and restaurants. There is also around the edge a central space available for exhibitions and special events.

Tavira is also a really attractive town with some lovely, quite grand, buildings reflecting it’s wealthy past. The area also has pretty gardens and squares to sit in and plenty of restaurants and cafes

If you enjoy shopping then don’t miss the Gran-Plaza shopping mall. It has a fantastic selection of shops, places to eat and cinemas as well as a large Continente supermarket.
Tavira Beach
The beach in Tavira is a fabulous island beach which is a 14 km long offshore sandpit. Ferries cross from the town centre throughout the summer and all year round from nearby Quatro Águas. Tavira’s magnificent beaches are located along the seaward side of the Ilha de Tavira island, and this un-spoilt natural scenery and is protected by the Parque Natural da Ria Formosa. The Ilha de Tavira is separated from the mainland by the Ria Formosa, and is accessible by ferry.

The Ilha de Tavira is an island that is a 10 km shoreline, which stretches from Tavira to Fuseta. The beaches on the Ilha de Tavira are surrounded by sand dunes and only 2km from Tavira.
Faro offers much more than just a landing point in Portugal. The area is also full of shops, restaurants, cafes, theatres, and galleries. Faro also offers great beaches and the Ria Formosa nature reserve.
