Kavoussi is a pretty coastal village situated on the route of the main road from the towns of Sitia to Agios Nikolaos. It is well served by local buses. This traditional village has several tavernas, kafeneons and small local shops. Nestling at the base of the Aventis mountain, the village enjoys wonderful views across the sea and mountains. There is a delightful small shingle beach at Tholos, a few minutes drive out of the village. The international airport at Heraklion is within a one and a half hour drive.
