      I’m about to start the process of getting Maltese residency, do I need to get health insurance?

      Any advice much appreciated!

        Healthcare in Malta is actually quite good, whether it is public or private.

        However, I would say that expats should go for international health insurance rather than a local health care plan. Generally it ensures better access to hospitals and doctors of your preference.
