      My wife and I are thinking of going on one of those cheap, long stay winter holidays for Malta to help us decide whether it is the best place for us in retirement.

      Has anyone been on this type of holiday?

        Hi Caden,

        My husband and I have been doing long stay holidays in Malta for many winters.

        We do Christmas with the family, then in the first couple of weeks of January we fly off to Malta for three months. It actually works out cheaper than staying in the UK.

        Comfortable weather, cheaper and less crowded transport, less crowded tourist spots and a more authentic Maltese experience.

        Definitely do it! Especially if you are thinking of retiring there.
