Andratx is an ancient Mallorcan town nestled in the valleys of the Tramuntana Mountain range and is home to one of the most interesting modern art galleries in Majorca. Its quaint, narrow streets and rustic heritage make it a truly authentic place. It consists of a tightly packet town-centre of rambling streets with reminders of the past on every corner.The sprawling outlyng farmlands include a combination of luxury homes and working farms which grow a feast of fresh local products. Every Wednesday, in the streets of the town, a traditional market takes place with a wide variety of fresh products, such as fruits and vegetables, and all kind of typical Majorcan products. The stunning location of Andratx on the south-west tip of Mallorca has inspired artists and writers and attracted a number of famous residents. Located about 5 km from Andratx we have the Port d’Andratx, which many consider to be the most beautiful harbour in the Mediterranean. It is an elegant port, with a well-maintained and equipped yacht club and a surprisingly large choice of restaurants, from modest little cafes to grab a quik bite, to excellent haute cuisine establishments serving some of the very best food that Mallorca has to offer. Palma city and the airport are about 30 minutes away by car.
