The regulations have changed a little for UK cars entering the EU. But not much. Check before you travel to reconfirm the requirements.

For Bulgaria you must have your driving licence, all original registration and ownership documents as well as evidence of insurance valid in Bulgaria. If you have hired a car, you must have the original contract document, which should also say that the vehicle can be brought into Bulgaria.
