And the most important – the people of Mourne are friendly and helpful to newcomers.
Mourne is situated in the centre of Crete, 106 km. from Heraklion airport and 90 km. from Chania airport, and approx. 30 km from Rethymnon on the north and Ag. Galini on the south coast. It has easy access to both north and south coast sandy beaches.
The picturesque central small town of Spili, with all its amenities (supermarkets, butchers, Health Centre, pharmacy, bank, post office, tavernas, kafenions, etc) and the famous square with its running waters, and local musical events, is only 4 kms. from Mourne.
